If you love the warmth and character of natural materials but can’t sacrifice contemporary comfort, stunning new Villa Occhinello is the one for you. This beautiful new farmhouse-style villa is tucked into a classic Corsican landscape of granite boulders, fragrant evergreens and gnarled old olive trees, with mountains rising to the rear and the deep blue of the Valinco Gulf sparkling to the fore. Sympathetic design means the villa feels spacious yet inconspicuous in its surroundings, the perfect spot to kick back, relax and let the power of nature soothe all your senses.
Inside you’ll find top spec and timelessly tasteful décor, totally in keeping with the modern farmhouse feel. For maximum flexibility, your party can spread over the three bedrooms in the main house and an additional guest cottage, complete with en-suite and its own little living area. It’s an idyllic spot for friends, several couples or a family group, with plenty of living and dining space both inside and out. The pool is a fabulous focal point, designed so the water level comes right to the pool edge, creating a beautiful, mirror-like surface (until the kids decide it’s time to play!) Last but not least, the location is sublime, and all the better for knowing that gorgeous Valinco beaches plus the shops and restaurants of Propriano are only a 10-minute drive away.

Outstanding holiday despite poor weather conditions a very special villa in Corsica
We have very much enjoyed our two weeks at Villa Occhinello. Having visited the island twice before, but staying near Figari, it has been lovely to explore another area. Once again, a wonderful holiday courtesy of Simpson and their brilliant team!

We had a fantastic week in this lovely villa in the beautiful, peaceful surroundings of the Corsican countryside. Loved every night on the veranda, kids playing in the pool... idyllic.
We have had a fabulous 2 weeks. Aside from the villa, beautiful views and sunsets and wild nature all around we have enjoyed meals out, the beach at Portigliolo, walks and great local food.
We had a fabulous holiday. The villa is superb - beautiful styling, comfortable, well equipped and amazing views. Great eco touches too which is important. Propriano is an easy 10 minute drive plus a fantastic organic fruit and veg shop a 2 minute drive and a boulangerie and butcher a 5 minute drive. Claire organised a wine tour for us which we all really enjoyed and would recommend. We had a visit from a little local dog most days -she was a delight and stole all our hearts! Many thanks to Claire, Stephanie and the team for all their help and professionalism.
We had the most amazing relaxing time in this beautiful villa. It is so peaceful and a stunning sunset view every night.
It has been fabulous. Campomoro, its tower and walks, the beach and the bar were all excellent. We found Sartene archaeological museum and Filitosa were well worth the visit. Flowers, birds, beaches, views... the list goes on.

The Gulf of Valinco makes for an inspiring holiday destination – and not just for the wonderful beaches. Propriano is one of the oldest island resorts, its marina lined with cafés and restaurants. South lies Campomoro and, to the north, in the folds of the Taravo Valley, stand the menhirs of Filitosa. Inland, you’ll find the mountain villages of the Alta Rocca, below the Bavella Peaks. And don’t miss the ancient capital of the south, Sartène, a favourite with wine buffs.
