If you're planning a villa holiday in Zakynthos, you're in the right place. Whilst the whole of Zakynthos has beautiful beaches, we chose the north of the island for our 2025 villas collection. Less developed than the south, here you'll find beaches like Xigia, where the cobalt blue water claims healing powers, plus family-friendly sandy beaches at Alykes, Alykanas and Psarou.
Head inland in the north and you'll be rewarded with cooler air and a sparsely populated landscape of pine-covered hills and traditional villages like Volimes, quietly continuing life untroubled by tourism. The coastal villages are also more peaceful in the north, with harbours like Agios Nikolaos perfect for an authentic meal by the sea. It's an idyllic place for a villa holiday, with an emphasis on quality over quantity so you'll enjoy luxury accommodation and service to match.
Zakynthos holiday highlights
No holiday in Zakynthos would be complete without seeing a few of the island highlights however, so we recommend a trip into Zakynthos town for a spot of shopping and some excellent restaurants. Go early and you might be in time to buy the catch of the day fresh from the boat; a delicious way to make the most of your villa barbecue. If you fancy getting out on the water yourself, we can arrange boat hire for you to explore the hidden beaches of the north. Navagio - or Shipwreck - beach is the most famous of them all and far from hidden! It's still a stunning place to see however, and if you don't want to join a boat excursion, we recommend visiting the viewpoint above, magical at sunset. And finally it's worth the drive south to visit the golden sands of Gerakas beach, which forms part of a protected marine park and is an important nesting ground for loggerhead turtles.
